Medical image processing has become a basic and important course. Althoughthere are several kinds of materials of medial image processing, there is short ofexperimental system matching with teaching materials. In order to cooperate with thetheory and experimental teaching of―Digital Image Processing‖course, a set of designmethods about software platform, which sets theory teaching and experiment in one iswill be given.The selection of development tool, software frame structure and the functionincluding opening, processing and display method of DICOM etc format image areintroduced in this paper. DICOM standard is international standard in storage andcommunication of medical image, but the general image processing software inWindows presently can’t display this special file format. In this paper, by using theabundant resources of interface design of VC++6.0, realize the method of display,transformation and processing of DICOM image via analysis of DICOM and BMPformat image. Basing on the software developed in this paper, the following functionshad been achieved. The image of small cell lung carcinoma could be segmented byusing of watershed transform combined with Mathematical Morphology. CT images ofbrain tumors could be segmented by using Top-Hat transform. The filtering and Irislocation experiment of medical ultrasound image could be proceed by usingmorphological reconstruction.The test results show that the system has better performance on teaching andresearch, and also supply researchers with a practical platform to improve practicalability and to enhance comprehension of the theory they studied.
