As an evolution of3G versions, LTE(Long Term Evolution) plays a vital role inwireless communications both in the present and future, and it can meet the needs ofusers for more than ten years. And my work is to focus on LTE physical layer basebandsignal processing.Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) is an important module of the baseband signalprocessing. The speed of computing, the throughput of data, and the rate of error bitpaly a important role in the discrete fourier transform. My major work is to design aDFT module by verilog hardware description language and FPGA, which can meet thedifferent symbol points.This article made a profile of the development of LTE and the important role ofDFT made in LTE first. Then we introduce all the modules of the LTE physical layerbaseband signal processing, and the roles each modules play in LTE. Then we select theappropriate algorithm to achieve the related functions(function, area and timing).Further down, we introduce all the modules of the DFT algorithm, including the clockdivision module, WFTA computing module, CORDIC algorithm module, rotation factorcalculate module, anti-spill module and re-sorting module. Finally, we compare thesimulation waveform with the theoretical waveform, and give the conclusions.The mixed-DFT module is achieved by FPGA, and it can be well compatible withother modules in the system, and it can achieve the function of DFT and IDFT. It canachieve the expected accuracy requirement, and has a high practical value.
