With the growth in demand for GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems),great efforts have been done to improve the performance of the navigation receiver toget a more accurate and reliable position and something similar. Due to the low cost, easy integration and other market requirements, RF receivers can be made in sametechnological conditions with the rest of digital signal processing units. Therefore it isimportant to do a research on RFIC’s circuits design based on CMOS technology. Asone of the key units of the RF front-ends, the LNA (Low Noise Amplifier) designs playan important role in the RFIC circuit designs. In this paper, we introduce the concept of the two-port theory and give somedifferent LNA topologies. We also show the concept of the noise figure, gain, linearity, power and so on. It is very hard to fulfill all of these parameters in a good performanceat the same time. So trade-offs should be made during circuit parameters. After that, several LNA design techniques based on CMOS technology are introduced to theclassic cascode LNA with source inductor degeneration, and discussed in detailedbetween them.In this paper, we present a fully integrated LNA based on the power-constrainedsimultaneous noise and input matching (PCSNIM) technique and fulfill the LNAcircuits by Cadence simulating tools. To achieve the PCSNIM in this design, an extracapacitor in parallel with theC gsof the main transistor is used. Due to the extracapacityC gs,we can easily get the LNA with noise matching and impedancematching at the same time under power constrained. After these things, the narrowband LNA is taped out by TSMC0.18μm CMOS technology. The resulting of theimplemented LNA shows a good performance. In this paper, we also do some research on the dual-band LNA design to meet thetrend of market in which several wireless standards and new standards will be used byone chip. Meanwhile, some design tips are used to make the LNA work well. Based onthe PCSNIM, the main method of the designing is the use of another extra capacitybetween gate and source. We can choose the different operating frequency with thehelp of the switch transistors. And we finally also get a good property by thesimulating.
