With the development of digital communication technology and Embedded System and micro-processor technology, intelligentization, digitization and miniaturization have become one of the development tendencies of modern instruments. With the advantages of unique dual-core structure and high performance and low consumption, Open Multimedia Applications Platform (OMAP) which integrates DSP core with the character of high performance and low consumption with ARM processor with the quality of strong control performance, is widely applied to the fileds, such as automatic control, measuring instrument and military and so on.This thesis introduces the design of the portable phase noise measurement instrument based on embedded system and OMAP-L138of TI company. The main work of the thesis are the transplantation of the operating system, the design of data input and output channels, and the commissioning of the whole system.According to the transplantation features of the embedded Linux system and the character of the OMAP-L138,it realizes the transplantation of embedded Linux system; it realizes the data exchange of ARM core and DSP core of the OMAP-L138by means of the DSP/BIOS Link, meanwhile, it also realizes the design of data input and output channels. Finally, it tests the whole system, the result of the test indicates the realization expected purpose, and provides reference for the subsequent development of system.
