3GPP LTE and LTE-Advanced proposed by3GPP have always been hot research topics with more and more attention paid by academic and industry fields in mobile communication systems in recent years. The efficient spectrum utilization of MIMO and low PAPR characteristic of SC-FDMA have made MIMO SC-FDMA become LTE/LTE-Advanced standard access scheme for uplink transmission. In order to further improve the power efficiency and reduce equipment costs of terminal equipment, the modulation techniques applied for nonlinear power amplifiers have been raised, such as OQPSK. Such modulation technique gives rise to a improper modulation signal, and it gives new challenge to the detection algorithm for receiver.This paper focuses on this type of modulated signal and analyzes its characteristic nature. Furthermore, an improved detection algorithm based on the minimum mean square error criterion is presented. Main components are as follows:1) A specific design scheme and performance analysis are given with widely linear processing applied for received signal;2) A algorithm combined with the concept of serial interference cancellation is realized to further optimize the performance and its design scheme is also given;3) Simulation and performance analysis are given. Simulation results show that proposed schemes compared to traditional detection methods are much better. Finally, the whole work is summarized and also research outlook for future work is carried out.
