With the development of wireless network, the security of wireless communication gets more and more attention. In traditional wireless video communication system, Wi-Fi is used as wireless technology. But the security of Wi-Fi technology is not good. Because Wi-Fi devices use cryptographic protocols instead of frequency hopping, there is a hidden danger for break. To solve this problem, a real-time video communication system based on bluetooth wireless network is given in this paper.In this paper, a deep research on the basic principles of bluetooth wireless communication technology has been done, including the analysis of the architecture of the bluetooth protocol stack, network characteristics and so on. Furthermore, a study of the hardware resources of DaVinci TMS320DM6446board and the software structure of DaVinci technology has been discussed. Based on this, a real-time video communication system based on bluetooth wireless network has been realized. First of all, according to the function, the best option of all the modules of this system is given, and in accordance with these options, the system’s hardware and software solutions is designed. Second, according to the requirements of software construction, MPEG-4decoder worked on TMS320DM6446DSP is programmed using Codec Engine framework and can be called by the ARM-side, which makes ARM and DSP work together and lays the foundation for further work. Finally, the detailed design of three process is given.Using shared memory and message queue as a means of communication between different processes, and using semaphores as a synchronization mechanism between different processes, the system software is accomplished. Moreover, the system operation has been tested and the test results have been analyzed.Based on the DaVinci platform, a real-time video communication system based on bluetooth wireless network meets the requirements of real-time video communications well.The test results show that the system has stably bluetooth link, the efficient decoder, the smoothly display and little delay, which achieves a good real-time effect.
