LED have been used in wide applications, such as display screens, traffic signals,electronic bulletin board, indoor lighting, building lighting and automobile taillightbecause they have low power consumption, longer lifetime, environmental protectionand multicolor. So the design of LED driver becomes a hot point, which provides highintegration, high efficiency, high brightness, low power consumption, high power andadjustable brightness function.The three-channel wide-voltage switch-type high-power LED driver circuit isstudied in this thesis. Firstly, some technical specifications of LED are systematicallyinvestigated. Secondly, this paper makes classified the LED driver circuit, draws thestructure of LED driver circuit, and puts forward to the LED fault protection. Then,according to the design requirement of three-channel wide-voltage switch-typehigh-power LED driver circuit, some appropriate calculations are made and theschematic is designed. Lastly, in order to achieve the practical application of this drivercircuit, we design the PCB layout, proposes some matters needing attention of the PCBlayout, and make analysis of PCB layout.Single or multi-cascade LED can be easily driven by the circuit with some simpleoutput component and good performance is obtained.
