It’s an approach to effectively improve the ability of radar detection for stealthtargets that fully taking advantage of characteristic of stealth targets in frequencydomain and polarization domain. The paper mainly combines with the wide-bandmulti-polarization VHF radar experimental system to analyze and verify the advantagesof the wide-band multi-polarization VHF radar in detecting stealth targets. Firstly, itintroduces the theory of the wide-band multi-polarization VHF radar. Secondly, it givesa detail description of the experiment, including components of the experimental system,acquisition of measured data, data processing flow and processing results and so on. Inthis experiment, the civil airplanes are used to analyzes and validate the ScatteringCharacteristic of target echo power and polarization properties of the target in VHF. Thetesting results show that the difference in target echo power in different VHF for thesame target is more obvious, and choice of polarization properties for target. So theecho signal power and Signal-to-Noise(SNR) can be significantly improved byoptimizing frequency, optimizing polarization mode, virtual polarization and othertechniques. Finally, the paper studies the problem of multi-parameter estimation basedon the polarization sensitive array of linear array and L-shaped array. It completes thepolarization parameters estimation and gives a comparison of their estimation accuracy.The computer simulation results show that, after the real-time correction for thesubspace of non-stationary signal by modified algorithm, multiple signal classification(MUSIC) algorithm and the estimation signal parameters via rotational invariancetechnique (ESPRIT) algorithm can basically track the changes in the signal parameter.
