Fiber-optic communication is a method of transmitting information from one place to another by sending pulses of light through an optical fiber. The light forms an electromagnetic carrier wave that is modulated to carry information. Fiber-optic communication systems have revolutionized the telecommunications industry and have played a major role in the advent of the Information Age. Because of its advantages over electrical transmission, optical fibers have largely replaced copper wire communications in core networks in the developed world.However, in telecom industry, loss and dispersion in fiber connector is already become a bottle-neck, which limited fiber system application to more wide area. Especially for some huge fiber integrated system, how to make sure hundreds of piece fiber connection area strong enough and connection loss less than0.1%become a key technical bottle-neck. The design of this fiber-optic fusion splices can provide protection at the fusion joint area and reduce the loss to less than0.1%.
