The VANET (Vehicular Ad-hoc networks) technology was proposed by international experts since2003-T car ITU communication standardization meeting, and has rapidly developed.Privacy is one of basic safety requirements of VANET. To deal with such problems, VANET brought in pseudonym mechanism. By constantly changing their pseudonyms, mobile vehicular nodes are able to prevent other nodes from tracking or positioning themselves through message analysis. So far, pseudonym mechanism is a relatively suitable and effective method for privacy protection in VANET.Meanwhile, pseudonym mechanism also brought us another problem:by using pseudonym, malicious vehicles could make kinds of attacking, fraud, or escape liability out of accidents. What is even worse is that, the attacking nodes could escape from punishment and continue attacks by changing pseudonym when the attacking activities were detected.The research investigates and surveys progress of secure communication in VANET, discuss about pseudonym mechanism used in VANET as well as pseudonym based malicious activities. As2main achievements of the research, the thesis first designed a mechanism of malicious nodes detection using Bloom Filter in pseudonym based VANET. Experiments show that the mechanism proposed in this thesis could effectively control false positive and balance communication overhead. Then the thesis improved the designed mechanism, to get better performance in both false positive and communication overhead.
