Abstract/Summary:
In recent years, the development of cloud computing has broughtnew changes for the IT industry. In cloud computing environment, massive data will be intensively stored in several data centers so that thescale of data storage is very large. The traditional storage architecture isdifficult to cope with the great challenge of massive data. Therefore it isimminent to study on the mass storage system with large capacity, highperformance, and high reliability. In the mass storage system, the design and implementation of clientand the whole storage system is very important for transparent accesswith high performance. This paper introduces the design andimplementation of Windows client for BlueOcean mass storage system,so that Windows application can access BlueOcean system transparently. The main work is introduced as follows:1) Comprehensively study on the important technologies of theexisting distributed file system;2) Introduce the overall structure of BlueOcean mass storage systemand design details of important system components;3) Deeply analyze the difference of semantics and interfaceparameter between Windows file system interface and POSIX interface;4) Design the general framework and functional module of Windowsclient, implement the file system access interface, and support Windowsapplications access to BlueOcean system transparently. Meanwhile clientuses cache to improve access performance. Client also support readaccess to big directory;5) Test for the function and performance of Windows client. The test result shows that Windows applications on the client node can normally access BlueOcean mass storage system. The research resultof this paper can be reference for the design of other mass storagesystems and Windows client.
