Design And Implementation Of The Campus Wireless Network

Wireless Local-Area Network, or WLAN,is a combination of compute network andwireless telecommunication technology. Since WLAN uses high-frequency radio waves ratherthan wires as the transmission media, it performs as a supplement and extension ofwire-connected LANs. With the application of information technology in the field ofeducation, this paper is based on the campus network cable there is a “network blind”, theexpansion of the malpractice area, discussed the significance of wireless campus network. Tothe reality of cable and wireless networks to complement the effort to build a ubiquitouscampus network.By combining the key building campus network technology, based on the three kinds ofsecurity standard authentication protocol in the construction of the campus networkimplementation, analysis location of wireless switches,and give a suggestion to Installationlocation of access points and configuration of wireless management software. The job ofthis text include following parts as bellow:(1) Discussed disadvantages of campus network. build up based on current networktechnology discussed potential solutions to these problems.(2) Designed topological structure of wireless network scientifically. Separated User VLANand Admin VLAN. Set up switch. Efficiently arranged wireless access points accordingto the local condition. Discussed security of wireless campus network and designed anauthentication process which is applicable in wireless campus network.(3) Tested new wireless campus network, analyzed results and discussed limitations of newwireless campus network related to the current technology.(4) Described future development of wireless campus and future network.Wireless LAN has many advantages, such as good mobility,low-cost development andoperation, easy expansion and facilely management and manageable wireless LAN in the areawhich wired LAN extend difficultly, so make up for the deficiencies of traditional wired LAN.And, on this basis, analysis the problem of the wireless LAN, and network security,conductsa detailed study of network optimization. Finally, comprehensive evaluation of networkperformance and the future direction of development.
