The development of Q-switched technology is an important breakthrough in the historyof the laser technology. On the one hand, it has promoted the development of the nonlinearoptical in the interaction of Q-switched pulse and material directly, on the other hand, it hasmade the great development of laser rangefinder, lidar, high-speed photography holographicetc. in the Q-switched pulse of the extremely narrow pulse width. The thesis has studiedsomething about the characteristics of acousto-optically Q-switched tunable CO2laser andthe simulation of four level model.The thesis made abundant investigation on the dynamic of the Q-technology at homeand abroad at first, and then according to the requirements of EUV project and the existingconditions of the laboratory, designed an acousto-optically Q-switched tunable CO2laser.The purpose of the research on continuous tunable CO2laser is to get the wholewavelength of9μm11μm,and then to find out the pulse of10.6μm which is the pulse of thefollowing work on acousto-optically Q-switched CO2laser.The thesis adopted four level model to simulate the characteristics of acousto-opticallyQ-swithced CO2laser, and compared the simulation results with the experimental results,then, observed the connections and changes of the theory simulation and experimentalresults.In order to study the characteristics of acousto-optically Q-switched CO2lasercomprehensively, the thesis has done a detailed study on pulse(including delay time, pulsewidth, pulse trailing and pulse stability), average power and peak power from current,frequency, the open time of AO, the cooling of each part of the laser(including dischargetube, AO, grating).The study of acousto-optically Q-switched tunable CO2laser will be the reference oftheory and experiment foundation of the following studies on mechanical Q-switched-CO2laser and electric-optically Q-switched CO2laser.
