Capsule Endoscopy Image Workstation is an essential part of Capsule EndoscopySystem. Most of Capsule Endoscopy Image Workstation that available on the market hasmany problems, such as lacking of ability of versatility, requiring high for workstationhardware, and low efficiency. So, developing a new capsule endoscopy image workstationwhich has a good ability of versatility, expansibility, and diagnosis functions not only canreduce doctor’s time, but also promote the use of capsule endoscopy in intestinal diseasescreening. After carefully analysis most of existing capsule endoscopy workstations, weaccomplished a practical capsule endoscopy image workstation, which can be easilyextended and can be run well on PC. The workstation has all of the basic ability that ageneral image workstation needs, and includes color bar indicating feature and manydiagnosis functions. In order to meet the workstation’s function needs, we combinedmulti-thread and design pattern technology to improve the system’s parallel processingcapabilities, for example, we adopted multi-thread driven model to shape the kernelmodule, and used design patterns to design the image viewing module. In order togenerate the image color bar quickly and accurately, the paper used the parallel advantageof GPU technology, and passed the generation work from CPU to GPU, and finallyimproved the system’s response speed. After experiment verification and testing, the system can accept the images passed bythe hardware system, support many image processing operations, such as image-viewing,image-editing, report-generating, and other functions. The system has a friendly userinterface, can be easily extended, and has many diagnosis capabilities.
