The object name service is an important component of the Internet of things for heatmeter and its implementation can promote the rapid development of the Internet of thingsfor heat meter. However, at present, the implementation of the object name service hasnot formed a standard. Moreover, there is a great safe loophole in leakage of user privacybecause of insecurity of the object name service. Based on the current condition, thispaper makes an exploratory research on the object name service.First of all, this paper puts forward a kind of implementation scheme of the objectname service which is realized through Java language. The implementation is dividedinto three modules: module of local server, module of ONS resolver and module of ONSserver. It also gives the key algorithms of implementation and configuration steps of ONSserver.Second, this paper puts forward a kind of identity authentication algorithm of theobject name service. This algorithm implements the function that an ONS server checksthe legitimacy of a client. First, a certificate authority generates all the parameters of anelliptic curve and in-files the parameters, so the registers can use them for inquiring.Then, a client or an ONS server will register at the certificate authority, so that they cangenerate their public key and private key. Finally, an ONS server authenticates legitimacyof a client through exchanging message with the client.This paper also puts forward a kind of encryption algorithm of the object nameservice. The algorithm encrypts the messages which are transmitted between an ONSserver and a client with mixed encryption technology. Besides, encryption key anddecryption key are calculated by a client or an ONS server which uses its private key andthe other’s public key. Therefore a client or an ONS server just transmits cipher text tothe other. The algorithm can ensure safety of transmitting information and secret key.In the end, this paper implements the two algorithms in the object name servicesystem for testing. The result shows that the object name service system which appliesthe two algorithms can realize its function correctly. Then two experiments are designed for validating the performance of the two algorithms. The experimental results show thatthe execution efficiency of the two algorithms is higher than that of the similar algorithm.
