A Graphic Music Sequencer With Score Display Basing On Embedded System

The graphical music sequencer with score display is important tomodern electric musical keyboard instruments. The author take the high-endelectronic keyboards with graphical sequncer from overseas manufacturersas target, realized a graphical sequencer with score display basing onembeded system.The key of this paper is to convert the MIDI data into score display.MIDI file is the most common and important form of digital music storage,but it’s impossible to directly display the MIDI file in the form of musicalnotation, because the MIDI data can not tell the exact type of note andchords. So the quality of the convert model is crucial to the result of theconvertion. An important criterion of judging the quanlity of the convertionis the arrangement of the timing of notes, and the score should be easy toread. The score is basically arranged according to the beat and measures, bystudying the rules and usage of the score, a high quality MIDI to scoreconvert model is designed.The score display content is tested and regulated by professionalmusician’s evaluation. The results indicate that the quanlity of the MIDI toscore convertor is better than the score convertor of some of the high-endelectronic keyboards from overseas manufacturers, and the cost issignificantly lower than those products. The system has successfully reachedthe expected goal.
