With the rapid development of embedded technology, many intelligent homefurnishing products appear in the market, brings convenience to our daily life. Butmost intelligent home furnishing products in the market are based on the Single chipmicrocomputer, its functions are relatively simple and single, no network, nographical user interface, usually only one control panel. Its application expansibilityis poor, cannot make various home furnishing equipment be centralized control. Thispaper presents that develops a smart home furnishing system terminal based on Linuxoperating system on the FIC8120embedded development platform. it can connect allkinds of home furnishing products by the network, make them centralized control. Atthe same time, because it is based on the Linux operating system, can develop richapplications on the system terminal. And it has good expansibility.First of all, this paper introduced the background and the research situations ofthe intelligent home furnishing system at home and abroad. Paper described thesoftware and hardware architecture of the FIC8120development platform. And thenstarted to construction an embedded Linux operating system on a scratch FIC8120development platform, analyzed and studied the working principles of OSBootLoader, analyzed the embedded Linux OS root file system, and uses the Busyboxtool to make a root file system, and transplanted the Linux OS kernel to the FIC8120development platform. Analyzed Linux frame buffer and constructed a graphicaluser interface. Then, paper described and made schemes of the intelligent homefurnishing system terminal functional modules, including Live Security, HomeElectrical Appliances control, Lifestyle, Family Entertainment, Property Services,System Setting. Paper focused on the video intercom function, made comprehensiveutilization of MPEG4video codec technology, multi-thread technology, networktechnology to achieve a stable video intercom system. Finally, paper made researchedin integrating the voice communication in ad-hoc network into the system terminal.We achieved that made a4jump voice intercom in the embedded ad-hoc network.
