In the producing and filling process, the ampoule bottle may introduceimpurities. These impurities are usually small cilia, hair, glass chips andlarger glass blocks. Studies have shown that if these impurities were injectedinto the human body which will lead to serious health problems."ChinesePharmacopoeia” specific required that it must detect and remove theimpurities which greater than50μm in diameter. The artificial detectionmethod, the machine vision method, the light blockage method are the mainthree methods for the detection of impurities. Artificial detection method hasthe disadvantages such as high strength, strong subjectivity, prone to errordetection. Machine vision method has the disadvantages such as high costand it is not convenient to operate and maintain. While the light blockagemethod not only relatively cheap, but also is convenient to operate andmaintain. Therefore, based on former research of our laboratory, this papermain studied the automatic light inspection machine and its signal processingmethod. The main work of this paper includes the following sections:Firstly,This paper introduces the principle of Mie scattering, largeparticle impurities geometric approximate extinction processing method andthe system of automatic light inspection, including the light path of thesystem, the detector, the I/V circuit, the A/D,the data acquisition and data processing method etc.Initially, during the real motion detection, automatic light inspectionsystem did not detect impurities’ characteristic signal. By using positionsensitive detector (PSD) in several experiments ultimately got the machinecannot be precise synchronization is the main reason. By using hardwaresynchronization method, the machine had successful detected the glassblock’s signal.Automatic light inspection machine failed to detect the smaller cilia, hair,glass chips. Therefore, this paper focused on the improvement in the lightpath, I/V circuit, detector and software.The cylindrical mirror scheme and the lens array scheme were presentedin this paper; Four quadrant detector and multi-channel array detectors werepresented in this paper; The parallel I/V methods were also presented in thispaper.This paper focuses on the comparison of the filtering effects from theButterworth digital filter, the mean filter, the ideal low-pass filtering and thewavelet transform. By using the differential method and the sectionalvariance method in the time domain and the summation of power spectrumfrom the specific frequency band in the frequency domain successfulimproved the detection’s reliability. The50Hz ideal trap filter whosebandwidth is4Hz was designed and used it to filter the interference.This paper also discussed the best optimal ampoule bottle rotation speedand the best optimal testing time.
