Digital image is heavily used as the digital cameras are becoming more popularthan traditional cameras nowadays. Digital images are easy to store, duplicate andmodify. These traits make digital images popular and also makes it less suitable forsome applications. Digital images reduces the cost of high quality images capturingand storing. On the other hand it is very difcult to trace back an image’s origin. In this occasion, the optimizing way to solve this problem is to embed some inirrecognizable data into the image to validate the image. Digital image watermarkingis a technology destined to solve this problem. Digital Watermarking is a technique toembed additional data in digital images, without afecting the original image quality. Digital watermakring’s focus is to embed data into images without noticeablevisual distorition, while being able to retrieve these data when needed. When embededdata can be retrieved when image is modifed in some extent the watermakring processis called robust watermarking. In this article we’re focussing on robust blind digital watermakring targetting onhigh resolution color images. The most challenging problem in this case is to robustlyembed data wihout afecting the visual quality of the image. Also being able to retrievethe data after the image has undergone cropping, resizing and rotation is also a key fora successful algorithm. Another problem is that high resolution images are generallystored in JPEG format, which is a popular lossy image compression algorithm. Whileimage compression methods are striving to take out invisible data from the image, thewatermarking process is trying to embed invisible data into the image. Whether thewatermark would survive a JPEG compression is also a key metric of a robust digital image watermark.According to the problems we’re facing, we proposed a novel robust blind wa-termarking algorithm based on traditional spatial least signifcient bit method. Ourmethod is tailored to survive JPEG compression to a extent, while traditional spatialsimply can not. And we tried to keep visual distortion to an aceptable rate and keep theembeded data robust again common modifcation of images. We also discusss aboutother related digital watermakring algorithms.
