Staring infrared imaging system based on the Infrared Focal Plane Array (IRFPA) technology has become a main trend of development in the field of infrared imaging system. But, the performance of the staring IR imaging system is badly affected by IRFPA’s non-uniformity noise. Domestic and foreign non-uniformity correction technology for infrared focal plane arrays have been developed more than30years. Scholars have proposed many methods which can be roughly divided into two categories: one is based on the calibration method, and the other is a scenario-based approach Method based on the calibration need to refer to the source, thus it is inappropriate to be used in real-time requires high system. Scene-based non-uniformity correction method without reference to the source, has a self-adaptive characteristics to meet the real-time requirements, and thus become a mainstream research. Scene-based non-uniformity correction method conducted in-depth research, The main contributions of the dissertation are given below. This paper analyzes the causes of the infrared focal plane array non-uniformity, and introduce the indicators used to measure non-uniformity, Pointing out the scope of application of these indicators.Non-uniformity simulation method of the sequence of infrared images is proposed in this paper. Using of the real infrared images included with non-uniformity noise as a template, then caculate the gain correction coefficient and the offset correction coefficient for each pixel,at last, role of this coefficient on image without non-uniform noise to get simulation image.Three scene-based non-uniformity correction method, and their characteristics, scope, advantages and disadvantages are discussed in this paper. This paper analyzes the scene of the infrared images from two aspects:the richness of the scene information and the motion of scene. Put forward the definition of scene complexity, introduce the bayesian decision to seek for the classification of the scene "scene complexity" threshold. Put forward an algorithm of determine the scene motion based on gray-scale inter-related principles.Non-uniformity correction algorithm based on scene analysis is proposed in this paper. The algorithm can adaptively select correction algorithm by the scene analysis of the infrared image, and achieve the correction algorithm scheduling through evaluation of the performance of the algorithm...
