| Mass media—especially the television, plays an important rolein the propagation and promotion of NBA. Despite of following thenormal rules of TV broadcast,NBA has also developed its owncharacteristical mode to broadcast, which leads to a massiveinfluence. To add televisual and theatrical elements to the process ofTV broadcast becomes a significant character and trend of NBA TVbroadcast. This kind of usage to broadcast makes a basketball gamego beyond the common scope of sports, which becomes a multipleenojoyable visual process that many theatrical performance andtelevisual elements involved. This paper integrated and identified thisphenomenon in the broadcast by academic discussion and proposedmaking some advise according to the situation of China’s sports TVbroadcast.This paper disgussed the televisual and theatrical performanceby taking NBA TV broadcast for example. Except the introduction,the paper is divided into three sections.The first section mainly disgussed the televisual and theatricalperfomance in theory. In this part, the paper identified and discribedthe conception of “televisual and theatrical performance”, showingthat what role does “assumption” play in TV broadcast andintegradted the factors of the televisual and theatrical performance inTV broadcast.The second section disgussed the televisual and theatricalperfomance in TV broadcast. First of all, the paper disgussed thesignificance of the formulation to the “game theme”by giving realexamples,which has influence to the live broadcast. Secondly, thepaper disgussed the important standing of the modern televisiontechnology in TV broadcast and came up to a conclusion that thetelevision technology is the premise and assurance for achieving thetelevisual and theatrical performance. Thirdly, the paper showed thesignificant status and functions of the TV director and cameraman bythe discussion of multi-cam, montage thoughts, camera scenes and camera movements, which illustrated the main purpose and task fortheatriacl and televisual performance is to create the players’ images.Finally, the paper revealed that the sound is a indispensable factor fortelevisual and theatrical performance in TV broadcast.The third section summarized the practical value of televisualand theatrical performance by disgussion. Firstly, the paper revealedtwo significances of theatricl and televisual performance for sportsTV program–enriching the program’s content and enlarging theprogram’s range. Secondly, the paper illustrated that the televisualand theatrical performance is a kind of artistic creation work. Finaly,according to the facts of the domestic sports TV progarms, the paperproposed three advices—to put the audience in the first palce,digging out the domestic source of program and to improve thecreative technique. |
