AS modern product are continuous mass production, and the precision of manufacture have greatly improved, it acquires the corresponding testing method of high precision. Machine vision inspection technology which has prominent advantages such as not contact, can be online, objective, automation and so on, is extremely used in the occasion of mass production process need to repeat testing the same components or product.The purpose of this paper is to design a system used for detecting the black type o rubber sealing ring based on machine vision technology. And it particularly discusses the following details:Firstly, the design of the whole visual inspection system, including the lighting system, image acquisition system and so on. And set up the experiment platform. Secondly, the paper researches image processing algorithm of the rubber sealing ring. Through contrasting the advantages and disadvantages of each image filtering and image enhancement algorithm by lots of experiments, then we choose a kind of improved median filtering algorithm to smooth the acquired image. By experiments, we contrast each image segmentation algorithm, and then select the suitable detection algorithm. Finally, the paper researches the detection algorithm of the dimensions and surface defects of the rubber sealing ring. By experimenting, we choose an improved Hough transform algorithm to detect the dimensions, and the connected domain search algorithm to identify defects.
