The grain is the foundation of the national economy, so the quantity, quality and safety ofthe grain are directly related to our national economic development and social stability.Because of the influence of temperature, humidity and other factors, the grain will appearsome situation such as fever, mildew, insect attack during storage. In order to reduce the lossin the grain storage, protect the quantity and quality safety of grain, storing grain scientificallyhas a great significance.The Grain Monitoring System is an intelligent system in which such technolegies asmodern electronic, sensors and computer science should be applied. It is used to implementreal-time monitoring grain situation changes in the grain storage, analysis and forecastmonitoring data and take control measures timely. It could provid technical guarantee andscientific basis for safe grain storage.In this thesis, a multi-functional grain situation monitoring system based on EmbeddedLinux is designed and realized. The system collects data through controlling sensors, andprocesses these data by using ARM controller, then transmits these real-time data to the hostcomputer. By using TCP/IP protocol, we can check the data Online through Upper Machinesoftware and make analysis and further processing. The hardware platform of system adoptsthe Samsung Company’s S3C2440A microcontroller which is based on the ARM9microprocessor; it can collect multi-road analog and digital signals. It supports RJ45networkinterface, standard RS232interface and USB communication interface. It also supports liquidcrystal display that provides a good interface for human-computer interaction. The expandedGPIO interfaces can connect sensor circuit and other circuits.The software system platform uses Embedded Linux Operating System. By usingcross-compilation mode, the U-boot, Linux core and Root File system are configured andcompiled, finally are transplanted to the hardware board.This thesis describes in detail the grain situation monitoring system’s hardware platformdesign process, which includes the chips selection, the design of Embedded Linux MinimumSystem, the choice of peripheral unit interface devices and circuit design, etc. On the basis ofhardware circuit design, the software platform of the grain situation monitoring system isdescribed detailedly, which includes u-boot’s configuring and compiling, Linux core’s compiling and transplanting and the creation of file system. The device driver programs of thegrain situation monitoring system, which contains sensor driver and video monitoring driverare researched in emphasis. The system’s application test is fulfilled.
