Motion control technology is a multidisciplinary and comprehensive technology, which consists of automatic control technology, power electronic technology, serve drive technology, signal detection and data processing technology etc. Along with the progress of the automation technology, the traditional motion control system has not already meet the requirements of the modern industry and social development dues to the restrictions of its own characteristics. Nevertheless, the motion controller which adopted the microprocessor, FPGA/CPLD programmable logic devices, the DSP digital signal processing controller etc is developed rapidly. Therefore, adopting a excellent control algorithm and developing a open architecture control system will be the development direction of the motion control system.At present, the domestic research on the open motion control system is still in its infancy, In the domestic market, each system is independent, and they lack of compatibility and interchangeability each other.Through the comparison of current mainstreams of design methodology on open motion control system, the paper uses a design scheme which is the combination of industrial computer and open programmable motion controller. Meanwhile, cooperate with the PC software can realize the function of the control system, and makes the portability and operational performance of motion control system increased greatly.The motion controller of motion control system of the subject uses a design methodology of "micro controller&motion control chip", The micro controller uses the MAX7651based on51kernel and developed by MAXIM Company, which is with a high speed and four clock cycles of mixed-signal, Motion control chip uses MCX314based on the DSP motion control special chip, which is developed by NOVE Company. It can implement4-axis motion and control location, velocity and acceleration; It also can implement continuous interpolations in the form of beeline, arc and bit mode; as well as the position closed loop control. At the same time, MCX314brings great conveniences on motion control because of its excellent perform-ance, simple interface, convenient programming and reliable work; The design of the software system follows the idea that is stratification modular and object-oriented. The paper adopts the design methodology of "PC software&movement function library&the auxiliary perfor-mance function", which can realize the function of human-computer interacttion between the PC software of motion control system and motion controller; At the same time, the movement control algorithm is analyzed and researched, which contains the speed control algorithm, track interpolation algorithm and spine interpolation algorithm, It can realize a drastic increase in the control performance of motion control system.
