The sea is the cradle of mankind, which attracts generations of people to explore, research utilize it. And it will provide a broad prospect be for the survival and development of human. Ocean area accounts for about two‐thirds of the earth. The Ocean is rich in resources, such as biological resources, mineral resources and energy. With the increasingly more prominent land resource exhaustion and environmental pollution, human beings will have to go the sea in a new form. Marine monitoring is the basic work of marine scientific research, development and utilization of resources and the environmental protection and management. Therefore, the development of marine monitoring technology is of great significance.Waves are one of the most basic elements of the marine environment, and researching marine engineering construction, ocean exploitation, traffic shipping, ocean fishing and cultivation is greatly important. In order to track the information of waves, we need to observe the waves accurately. In this case, data security products that can provide in‐situ data are urgently needed. And the x‐band radar has many unique advantages in extracting waves information. The x‐band radar and sailing shore‐based radar can not only be used to monitor moving targets at sea, but also can be used for the measurement of waves and currents. Compared with other telemetry means, The x‐band radar telemetry is featured as being stable, real‐time and convenient. First of all, the x‐band radar telemetry can monitor the near shore at anytime and anywhere, which is not available for space‐borne or airborne radar. It does not need wireless transmission device, and the work is stable and safe. Compared with high frequency ground radar, the x‐band radar is characterized as convenient, low investment higher resolution and higher accuracy in measuring the spectrum direction. Buoy has a high measurement accuracy, but it can only designated measurement. What’s more, it can be easily lost and damaged, and the safety coefficient is low. And the x‐band radar has a broader detection range and a higher safety coefficient. So it can be used as an alternative product for buoy. Therefore, the x‐band radar has a broad prospect of application. Furthermore, the x‐band radar has been applied to monitor ship‐based and shore‐based marine dynamic environment at home and abroad. When the x‐band radar electromagnetic wave enters the surface, it produces Bragg scattering with those capillary waves that are of the same wavelength as the electromagnetic wave. And then the backscatter echo waves are received by the radar receiver. In this process, a "sea clutter" is formed. And long waves are shown on “sea clutter” images through the fluid dynamic modulation, shadow modulation and tilt modulation effect of the capillary waves. So it can be concluded that the x‐band radar images contain rich information of the waves. In this paper, the x‐band radar marine dynamic environment monitoring system (OS071X) is used to inverse the parameters of waves. At the same time, the wave knight buoy is used to further test the parameters obtained from the system, which provides test data and strong support for the next engineering "prototype".In this paper, we have inversed and analyzed the shore‐based data collected in the seas of Nanjiang Village, Jinjing Town, Jinjiang City, Fujian Province. Some sea parameters have been obtained, such as the effective wave height, main wave frequency and the main wave direction. The calculated results of the area are compared with the buoy data, and the results show that "the x‐band radar Marine dynamic environment monitoring system (OS071X)"(hardware and software algorithm) has reached a high precision in obtaining effective wave height, peak wave frequency and peak wave direction. This system can be a very good system in monitoring the waves information. When the winds and waves are large, this algorithm software can reach a higher inversion precision and a lower error rate. From the results discussed above, it can be concluded that the information of waves can be obtained efficiently through the x‐band radar system.
