In recent years, with the rapid development and mature of optical fiber technology, theoptical fiber technology has been widely used in many areas of optical fiber sensor, opticalfiber communication and FOG navigation. Precisely because of it, the performance andquality of optical fiber is put forward the higher requirement. Therefore, understanding theinternal structure and optical parameters can effectively improve the performance of opticalfiber. As the basic physical quantities of the refractive index of optical fiber can not onlyprovide us with a variety of information of optical fiber, but also determine the overallperformance of optical fiber. Therefore, the measurement and research of the refractive indexof optical fiber has become domestic and foreign the research hot spot in the optical field.This paper focuses on the design and implementation of hardware modules of fiberrefractive index profile measurement system. The following describes the specific work ofthis paper:1This paper detailed introduces the development state and important role in related fieldsof optical fiber technology. Subsequently, this article particularly introduced the significanceand methods of the measurement of fiber refractive index profile.2In theory, we carried out detailed model analysis and formula derivation of refractednear-field method. Followed by, we comprehensively described the features and structure ofthe whole fiber refractive index profile measurement system.3In this paper, we introduced the function hardware modules of the whole fiberrefractive index profile measurement system and then detailed discuss the design methods.4This paper specifically described the implementation method of the hardware modulesof the whole fiber refractive index profile measurement system. Then we tested the functionof the corresponding hardware modules.5In this paper, we developed a drive for hardware modules of the whole fiber refractiveindex profile measurement system by using the LabVIEW software, and successfully pickedup the signal automatically.
