A laboratory is an organization that performs test and/or calibration. Laboratory plays an importantrole in civilian economy, defense industry and science research. As its special functions and influence,laboratory is strictly supervised in some aspects such as law, administration, and technique, and needs tocontrol multifarious technique and administration workflows accurately, also needs to manage hugeamounts of information efficiently. With traditional manual management method, laboratorymanagement becomes an over complex and expensive process. Professional staffs and a lot of time thathave to be spending on the laboratory management make precise management impossible.As rapidly development of Computer Technology, it provides more and more convenient conditionsfor laboratory workflow control and information management. Testing Laboratory InformationManagement System (LIMS) is a kind of special information management system who serves in thespecial application. LIMS is asked to meet the requirements both on technical operation and qualitycontrol.This page analyses the status quo and existent problems of laboratory control and LaboratoryAccreditation, brings forward the overall design idea, describes mission and expectation effects of LIMS,and analyses the function of task planning, testing workflow, quality control and daily managementmodels, and provides system structure and performance requirement. Then, this page designs theworkflows of testing tasks, report alteration, quality control and daily management, and also describesthe data-exchanging relationship between models. This page designs and verifies the typical functionmodelsļ¼Œbased on the Delphi7.0designs the LIMS for task control, statistics and query, data and reportchange, technical factors and management factors control, administration, project management andfundamental data base maintenance怂Through the debugging, optimization and application of a realsystem, the analysis and design of LIMS has been verified. This page provides a uniform andcompositive platform for technical operation, quality control, administration to all staffs, and helpspeople to accomplish automatic transfer and on-line audit for testing tasks, technical factors andmanagement factors control, administration workflows, and accomplishes software, hardware resources,workflows integration and efficient laboratory operation. By the LIMS, it has been proved that the testing laboratory could reduce the operating risk and running cost, improve service quality, and improvethe information management level.
