From the end of2009, the new round of TV dating shows strongly attacks us.They not only become the absolute winners of the TV entertainment programs in recent years easily, also led to concerns and lively discussion of the whole society. This article aims to use theory of the power of discourse to reveal and clarify power phenomenon in the relevant TV dating show programs.Through access to the compilation of relevant literature, watching the video material, using the cultural criticism and other methods, I take the popular TV dating show programs for text analysis in the hope of konwing more about the underlying power relations behind the planning concept and production model of the TV dating show programs through the programs’ flashy, noisy appearance,and thus have a more comprehensive, clear understanding to present situation of the TV dating show programs.I hope it can provided some inspiration to the sound development of the TV dating show programs and other TV entertainment programs.This article first analyzes the media discourse properties of TV dating show programs, focusing on the openness and authority, one-way, technical and other characteristics of media discourse itself, which further illustrates the power of media discourse properties and show the feasibility of using the power of discourse theory to analyze, study the current popular TV dating show programs. In addition, the article also briefly describes the development history, status and classification of TV dating show programs, in order to pave the way for comparative study of the traditional TV dating show programs and the new breed of TV dating show programs. Secondly, this article analyze the TV dating show programs from two aspects of the internal structure and the pragrams’s macro-operation mechanism. In the aspect of the internal structure, this article analyzes the audio-visual coding, interactive system, gender relations, focusing on the power of audio-visual symbols in constructing the facts and guiding the emotion, the host and experts’ control power in the interactive system, men and women’s image in the program and changes in position and power, which reveal the complex micro-power relations in TV dating show programs deeply. In the aspect of the macro-operation mechanism, this article analyze the mainstream ideology, cultural context and, and discusses the control and regulate power owned by the country’s television system and media policy, China’s unique cultural’s affection to the prgrams’ content and form and how does the economic power make a successful conversion with programs’discourse power with the help of ratings and implanting a variety of consumer desire to the programs.Through analysis, this paper shows that the production of TV dating show programs has always been firmly controlled by various external power relations.This external power mechanisms aslo affect the pragrams’internal structure, and show more kinds of power relations in the internal structure,which shows a unique form of of TV dating show programs.
