Recent years, hyperspectral imaging technology is the next generation of photoelectric detecting technique. It is widely used in geographical telemetry, medical spectrum, military spy and some other areas because of the advantages in both imaging and spectral detection, acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) have advantages of small volume, no moving parts, large clear aperture, high sensitivity, high diffraction efficiency and so on. Thus, the hyperspectral imaging technology based on AOTF is mainly studied. The development of hyperspectral imaging technology and AOTF in the world is introduced in this paper. The working principle of AOTF is also expressed, by the AOTF performance indicators to determine the structure and mine parameters of the AOTF. This paper deeply researched hyperspectral imaging experiment system based on AOTF. When hyperspectral system images for the same target, the position of image point will be different.Because different wavelength will determine different focal length when scant by AOTF.As for the detector CCD, in order to get spectrum image from different wave band, the designer should achieve the goal of apochromatism. Considering the wavelength of optical system (400-1000nm), we choosed CaF2to correct the second order spectrum in the system. The designed result not only achieved apochromatism, but also achieved imaging requirements in different wave band.
