1990s, the U.S. press had a so called "Public Journalism" news reform movement-and spread to other countries. In recent years, it came to China and form a " Public Journalism trend" in the national press. This paper studies the impact of public journalism theory to Chinese news writing after it came to China from the United States.This study is from six aspects:The first part discusses the importance of this study, significance, methods and main points:the second part first describes the background of public journalism campaigns, the basic ideas and practice of US public journalism, then presents the practice of our public news. The third part first summarizes the responsibilities of the public news media, then analyzes from traditional media and new media two ways. The fourth part first summarizes the requirements of public journalism theory to the general news reporter, then studies and analyzes the role of the news reporter, the changes of the perspectives of report, summarizes the changes of the reporter before and after the event. Part V begins by describing the emphasis to public’s attention from public journalism, and then studies and analyzes the status and role of the participated readers in the public news events, by comparing the change, it concluded the impact of public journalism event to the readers. Part VI first discusses the emergence and rise of public journalism, gives the government an opportunity to change the image, then analyzes from two aspects:the new-features of the role of government and the changes of relations between government and public.
