Image processing is a compreh-ensive discipline about image, it is through that using some mathematics operations on obtai-ned image do further processing for get higher resolution image, to meet people visual psyc-hological and the need of real life.Image interpolation is one of the main technologies in image processing, its main purpo-se is to make the image enlarge and achieve higher compression ratios in image compressio-n. The traditional image interpolation techniques are the nearest neighbor interpolation,bilin-ear interpolation and double three interpolation, after using these techniques, image will pr-oduce the mosaic phenomenon, and the edge details of image became fuzzy, therefore it is p-articularly important that finding a way which not only can zoom image but protect the ima-ge edge details, make zoom image obtained better visual effect. For this reason, the thesis us ing region segmention technique on the gray image and the color image fusion technique bas-ed on Canny edge detection on the color image, make the interpolated gray and color image-s can have better visual effect.
