The Perimeter Intrusion Detection Technology Based On Leaky Coaxial Cable Sensor

The purpose of perimeter intrusion detection system is to protect the defense areafrom illegal invasion. When invasion occurs, the system can report the invasionposition precisely and promptly. With the development of technology, the criminalswill invade many important areas (such as military bases, nuclear power plants,weapons depots, enterprise) for illegal economic benefits, using increasinglysophisticated tools. Leaky coaxial cable perimeter intrusion detection system is a kindof equipment which is very important in the fields of security. This kind of equipmenthas many advantages, such as being convenient for hiding, working all day, notaffecting environmental aesthetics. When alarming signal is given, we can only knowthat someone is invading the area we are detecting.But we can not confirm the exactLocation of the intruders. That is because, generally, the perimeter of every securityzone at is least100m. So, it is very hard for security guards to lock the preciseposition of the invasion. On this condition, we need to design a kind of safety guardsystem which has the ability of detecting the specific location of the invasion timely.This paper is mainly about perimeter intrusion detection system based on theleaky coaxial cable, which is using digital mixing low-pass filtering method to detectthe place where the discontinuity occurs (the discontinuity will happen when intrusionoccurs), and then using the arrival of time to calculate the distance between detectionsystem and the location of intrusion. Ultimately, through the simulation, we get theconclusion that the system’s positioning accuracy is4m in theory.The contents of this article can be divided into following sections. Firstly, weintroduce several common perimeter intrusion detection systems and the presentresearch situation of leaky coaxial cable perimeter intrusion detection system and talkabout the necessity of locking invasion position. Secondly, we describe the leaky coaxial cable and the detection system. After that, I analyze the basic theory ofpositioning and design FIR low-pass filter and monitoring software running in thecontrol room. Finally, based on this theory, I use Matlab to simulate my system. Theresult show that the system has the ability of positioning and the positioning accuracyis4m.
