In21st century,improving the scientific literacy of citizens, establishing correct cognition of the scientific knowledge has become an important aspect in develping our country’s science and education cultural, science communication is also very important.Television as a wide spread and influential media form, it has practical advantages in effective communication and informal science education.In the process of Chinese TV program entering the market,many science columns have mission to disseminate scientific,complying with the strategic policy "Revitalizing the nation through science and education",looking for new forms of communication constantly,"Approaching Science" program is the first program which takes storytelling principle into topic production,especially since2004TV program adopted a new narrative strategy,it turns out to be effective in promoting science and education programs.This paper focus on the storytelling narrative strategy of approaching science program,by combing the history of it’s development, as well as comparative analysis with foreign science and education program. About case study in this paper, integrated using the theories of Journalism and Communication, TV narrative discourse, media discourse and culture, starting from the structuralist narrative theory, to clarify the theoretical source of the paper. Approaching science has formed it’s own narration style while popularizing science. Therefore we come to a conclusion that storytelling narrative can also be adopted by other science and education TV programs,which can improve communication effects of the programs. By following the premise of the scientific propagation and television rules of grammar,TV science can make full use of the advantage, so that the audience can be satisfied with the programs and enjoy the spirit of science. This narrative style makes the program seek the best balance of the coexistence of an informative, interesting, thoughtful and entertaining between popularizing science technology and dissemination knowledge.Moreover, compared to the popular science category of foreign prosperity, there is a big gap in the production level and theoretical support, through a comprehensive, systematic, the deeper conceptual proposals for targeted, hoping cause more concern and attention to chinese science and education TV program.
