With the restructuring of telecommunications in May2008, China Railway was merged into the China Mobile overall. It is clearly defined that China Railway is responsible for cable Broadband network business temporarily. In the Broadband network market, the domestic competition between the three operators is increasing. As the whole business needs, China Mobile actively support China Railway to develop its wired broadband data services, and broadband business of China Railway Jiangsu Branch is facing great re-development opportunity. But the broadband network of China Railway Jiangsu Branch couldn’t meet the demands of the rapid development of Broadband network, and the paper is to study the problems with broadband network in China Railway Jiangsu Branch and its modification plan.By studying and analyzing the present status of the broadband network business development in Jiangsu and the network conditions of the broadband network in China Railway Jiangsu Branch, the paper analyzes the existing problems of broadband network of China Railway Jiangsu Branch from the market needs and the trends in the evolution of broadband technology.In this paper, it gives some suggestions to make use of the technology of XPON to reform the existing broadband network of China Railway Jiangsu Branch, shows the feasibility of the modification scheme on the broadband network by the case of China Railway Changzhou Branch, and makes it clear that there are some key points in reforming. In doing so, we must proceed from reality of China Railway Jiangsu Branch, analyze the habit of using the Broadband network of the different customers in different regions in order to meet the growing needs of broadband users, keep pace with technology evolution, and take input-output efficiency into account and assess existing modification scheme of the broadband network by the actual of market operation of China Railway Jiangsu Branch.
