Nowadays,information technology is becoming more and more important to improve theproductivity of agriculture, especially for fire monitoring and positioning. Wireless sensornetwork is the important means to realize information, it is an interdisciplinary research field,which is the integration of sensor technology, network and wireless communicationtechnology and distributed information processing technology. Through the cooperation ofvarious types of micro sensor nodes, it can make real-time sense and collect the monitoringinformation, timely and accurately positioning. Oil field achieves the characteristics of widerange, critical situation when the fire occurred, so we should make an accurate and timelydecision as soon as possible. That is to say, positioning is very important. The paper adoptsthe positioning technology on Wireless Sensor Networks. It can meet the demands of oil fire.Compared with traditional data acquisition system, wireless sensor network has the advantageof the large monitoring range, and the accurate monitoring data. Point at the natural demandof the oil field, this paper made a specific study on the fire detection and positioningalgorithms based on the wireless sensor network.First, the paper introduced the background of the wireless sensor network and the presentsituation of the domestic and foreign research, elaborated the significance of the topic. Second,based on the depth analysis of oil field environment characteristics and needs, it proposed theoverall design plan for the system, and introduced the key technology to be solved for theforward monitoring, positioning system. Third, this paper focused on the oil fire positioningalgorithms based on WSN, discussed the ranging technologies for the system, and made theMATLAB simulation and FPGA realization. And compared the improve range finderapproach with traditional ranging means, and the corresponding simulation results was given.Then, it established the simulation testing system which had been debugged. The result showsthat the system has high accuracy, reliability on the environmental data collection, and hasstrong application value. Finally, it made a summary for the work and the next step is putforward.
