With the development of wireless communication technology, micro-computer technology and sensor technology, wireless sensor network (WSN) has become one Hresearch focusH in the field of IT. Because WSN doesn't require human being to be in the detection areas, and It costs low, can cover wide areas, It has become a new way to detect and measure fire. It has broad prospects.The thesis designs and implements a system for fire detection and measurements based on WSN. The main contents of research are following:Firstly, the design scheme is presented. We introduce some main chips on the hardware and the hardware itself. We also introduce the operation system TinyOS designed for WSN and characteristics of its programming. Task-event way of CPU Scheduler mechanism, active message way of communication mechanism and component-based way of programming are discussed in detail.Secondly, analyze and design the route algorithm. References to minimal ID and highest node degree clustering algorithms, a new method has presented using node degree and rssi value. The simulation indicates that the new one has lower single-node clusters percentage, shorter transmission distance between cluster members and cluster heads in average. It can balance the cluster head's load, confine the numbers of one cluster. One disadvantage is that the cluster number increases slightly. But when nodes are placed in dense, the cluster number is close to ideal value. Taking the error caused by distance measurement into account, simulate the algorithm. The result indicates that the error has not damage the good performance.Thirdly, analyze and realize node location. The ability to locate can help to improve the system performance. Considered hardware in genomote, we use rssi method to measure the distance between two nodes and maximum likelihood estimation method to estimate the node location. TinyOS is used to help programming. A lot of experiments are conducted. The result is recorded and analyzed.Finally, realize the graphic interface in PC. Components about communi-cation in tinyOS are utilized to realize the communication between nodes and PC. After the graphic interface receives messages, restore them in date base. Nodes'locations and their topology, temperature and humidity curve, message receive-send cue are showed in the graphic interface.
