With economic development and industrial progress, pressure vessels has been widely used in all businesses, so as the leader, the pressure vessel design is particularly important. However, due to the precision and complexity of the pressure vessel design, developing the computer-aided drawing system of pressure vessels is necessary.In this thesis, based on the knowledge of the two-dimensional engineering drawings of pressure vessels and utilizing OpenDWG technology, we developed a two-dimensional computer-aided drawing system, which is tightly integrated with PV Desktop three-dimensional analysis system in a way of module structure. As a two-dimensional computer-aided drawing system based on PV Desktop three-dimensional analysis system of pressure vessels, all its excitation mechanisms comes from the three-dimensional analysis system, namely, the inspired motion oOf the entire system are completed on the the three-dimensional analysis system. Two menus are embedded in the three-dimensional analysis system. One of them is used to stimulate the two-dimensional computer-aided drawing system to generate the needed DWG graphics, and another is mainly used to set the parameters to give some limits before generating DWG graphics.The system implemented in this thesis is can resolve the current discontinuity in the process of designing pressure vessels. And this work will further enrich the OpenDWG theoretical research and improve its application in the management of engineering drawings. Consequently it has important academic and practical value.
