Situation assessment, which combines the data fusion methods, knowledgerepresentation methods and intelligent algorithms, is an important research direction inthe field of information fusion, and reflect a multi-layered view of the battlefieldsituation. With the development of science and technology, situation assessmenttechnology not only can be applied to the battlefield, but also have a wide range ofapplications in the network, transportation and other fields. On the battlefield, accurateand timely response to a battlefield situation is a key factor in combat success or failure.Situation assessment technology not only has timely responses to the battlefieldsituation, but also to a certain extent, reduces the number of targets and facilitates thecommander to make timely decisions. Therefore, the research of situation assessmenttechnology has become a hot topic. The information on the battlefield is vast. Theenemy electronic jamming, enemy deception, sensor performance and other factorsmake the battlefield information uncertainty and complexity, and situation assessmenttechnology needs to consider many factors, such as social background, the deploymentof troops, and environmental factors and so on. All these factors make situationalassessment technology become a difficulty.Modern warfare is complicated and changeful. It is difficult to propose acomprehensive method for all the campaigns. Therefore, in this paper, two keytechnologies of situation assessment, which are target grouping and intention prediction,are studied mainly based on the functional model of situation assessment under thespecific air-to-air interception combat scenarios. On this basis, the simulation platformof situation assessment is designed and realized. This paper mainly includes the follows:1. The three functions of situation assessment, which are situation assessment,situation understanding and situation prediction, and the key technology of eachfunction are analyzed, and current situation assessment methods are analyzed andcompared.2. A graph-based global optimization fuzzy C-means algorithm is proposed. Thesimulations of this method and fuzzy C-means algorithm are done and the results are compared and analyzed.3. A complex network module density based chameleon algorithm is proposed andapplied to the technology of target grouping. The simulation is done and its feasibility isverified.4. A dynamic bayesian iterative inference algorithm is proposed and applied topredict target intention. The simulations of this algorithm and dynamic bayesiandirectness inference algorithm are done, and the results are analyzed and compared.5. According to the requirements for air-to-air interception operations scenarios,the simulation platform of situation assessment is designed and realized on C++Builder6.0platform and some experiments are done. The basic functions and designrequirements of situation assessment are completed.
