The rapid development of internet technology and multimedia technology extremely stimulates the explosive growth of communications data services, but the traditional wireless bandwidth is no longer able to meet some high-rate applications. The60GHz-band short-distance communication technology has become the hot topic of applied research, for its availability high-capacity unlicensed spectrum around60GHz and good direction, which makes it known as one of the most promising technologies in the next generation person-domain communication technology. This thesis pays attention to the problem which will be obstructed in the designing of the60GHz-band short-distance communicaiton system by hardware non-ideal characteristic.Chapter2mainly considers the60GHz-band short-distance communication system from three angles which include the propagation characteristics, the modulation scheme and the structures of transmitter and receiver. Firstly, using the channel model in802.15.3c standards, this chapter analyzes the channel model and the propagation characteristics of signal in60GHz-band. Secondly, we introduce and analyze two types of modulation scheme, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing and Single Carrier Frequency Domain Equalization, which are most popular topics in60GHz communication discussion and the advantages of them. Finally, we introduce several structures of transmitter and receiver in communication system and preliminary analyzes the influence which was produced by hardware non-ideal characteristics in the system. In Chapter3, we analyze the system performance with finite precision when using the DAC\ADC component in the60GHz short-range communication system. First we introduce the DAC/ADC mechanism and the basic parameters, such as ENOB, INL, DNL, SFDR, etc. this chapter analyze and simulate the performance of60GHz communication system which is affected by quantization noise which is produced in the process of quantization. At last, this chapter simulates the high-speed communication system with DAC\ADC model, and achieves the data about the influence by ENOB in several kinds of communication system and the minimum requirements to the basic communication in these kinds of modulation scheme. For the phenomenon of I\Q imbalance which is often to happen in60GHz-band communication systems. In this chapter, we describe the model and characteristics of I\Q imbalance which includes phase imbalance and amplitude imbalance. For phase imbalance, firstly we describe the behavior of the modulation/demodulation and I\Q phase imbalance secondly we stimulate the60GHz system performance with phase imbalance. Chapter4proposes two estimation methods to correct the impact of I\Q imbalance to the system and compares their characteristics and application domain. The chapter5focuses on the system performances with the non-ideal characteristics of the power amplifier, especially in the OFDM modulation for60GHz short-range communication conditions. Firstly, we introduce the linearity of the power amplifier. Secondly we describe the AM-AM, AM-PM characteristics curve. At last, we analysis and stimulate the effect which power back-off brings about in the communication system with OFDM modulation.
