The research topic of this thesis comes from the cooperation project about the prison security system.The prison has a lot of posts,each post needs to install multiple cameras,which collects video information.The information will be sent to the control center.Optical fiber is required to be used to transmit video information if the distance is far away between the post and the center. If using different fiber to transmit the video information,this can not only increase the cost,but also makes the system complex,therefore the system is required to focus all the video information through a single fiber transmission.At the same time,the alarm equipment is required to install in each post.A malpractice exists,which will cause the entire alarm system paralysis,in the traditional alarm devices,with the RS485to be the connection interface.The prison early adopts the scheme that video and control alarm information through the optical transceiver to transmit,the data i false alarms happens occasionally.Therefore the video and alarm system which makes the video and alarm information transmission separated is designed in this thesis.For the application requirements of the prison secuity system and the flexibility and practicability of the security monitoring system, the video capture and transmission system based on ARM and FPGA is designed in this thesis. The focus of this thesis’s research includes:(1) The history of the development of the security monitoring system,and the composition and trend of the development of the video surveillance system,at home and abroad,are elaborated.a design method of separating the control system and monitoring system is proposed.Meanwhile,the details of it’s feasibility of the method are discussed.(2) The video acquisition module is designed.The16video are converted into the digital information,with the further processing by the video acquisition module,then the information is transmitted to the viedo receiver module of the control center through the optical fiber, The video acquisition module, the FPGA module and optical transceiver module are contained in the hardware part of this module.A scrambling module, coding module, are contained in the software part, and the6B8B coding technology of the mBnB code is used in the coding module, the parallel scrambler algorithm is used in the scrambling module with Verilog HDL hardware description language as the programming language.(3) The video receiver system is designed, and with the data proceesing by the video receiver module,the information is outputed to the display device. The DA module, the FPGA module and optical receiver module are contained in the hardware part of this module.A descrambling module,decoding module are contained in this part.(4) The alarm module is designed.The alarm and video information is transmitted by network with the prison LAN as the basis.The ARM minimum system,the alarm module and so on,are contained in the hardware part,and the WinCE operating system,application program are contained in the software part.(5) According to the project requirements, the system debugging, the system improvement and the Modelsim simulation are made.Finally the system working effect diagram is given out and the area can be further improved and perfected is proposed.
