RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a technology which can identify targetsautomatically by RF signal, and then obtain the target-related information according to thereturned RF signal. Compared with barcode, RFID has several advantages, including highefficiency, high speed, high accuracy, resistance to harsh environment, and non-ling-of-sightreading. At present, RFID is widely used in logistic management, intelligent assetmanagement, automatic toll collection. RFID reader and tag are fundamental terminalequipments for building Internet of Things. Interiorly, the low-frequency RFID researchesand its applications are already quite mature, but e-label products are not mature yet, whichare related with UHF RFID, due to the lack of researches. Thus, the research of UHF RFIDhas long-term scientific and economic significance. This paper analyzed the ISO/IEC18000-6TypeC protocol and communication theory ofUHF RFID system in detail. Base on these works, the simulation of RFID system wascompleted and the frequency of digital process unit was determined. The logic structure ofdigital process unit of RFID tag based on ISO/IEC18000-6TypeC protocol was proposedand each module was refined in use of Top-Down method. A Down-Top method was used indesign process. Each refined module was completed by Verilog HDL, and simulated bySynopsys VCS software. The results of simulation showed that the design is successful. Atlast, the digital process unit was synthesized by Quartus II software and verified on ALTERACyclone FPGA board.
