The Research Of Wood Cell Image Edge Detection Based On The Fractal Theory

Wood is necessary resource to the existence of human, also is the most commonly used one of engineering materials. In order to alleviate the shortage of China’s wood situation, the wood material should be studied and trees should be planted reasonably and effectively. And wood material characteristics is decided by the microscopic structure of wood cells. This paper is based on digital image processing technology and takes advantage of image edge detection technology. The wood cells images are studied and the microscopic structure of wood is promoted. Image processing technology is to handle images through the computer. In today’s digital information age, digital image processing are playing an important role. At present in computer science, information science, engineering, chemistry, physics, mathematics, medicine, biology and so on many scientific fields, digital image processing has been applied and obtained achievements in computer science, information science, engineering, chemistry, physics, mathematics, medicine, biology and so on.In digital image processing process, image segmentation should be high quality for analysising pictures accurately. Image segmentation, is the focus in the image processing research, is the process to divided the whole picture into several non-overlapping and meaningful area to accurately analysis pictures, the image should be high quality divided. Image segmentation is will the whole image segmentation into several overlapping each, meaningful, the small area of the process, it is the research focus in the image processing. Image edge detection is representative among image segmentation technologys. This paper introduces several traditional edge detection algorithm which is applied with the wood cells image segmentation, simulated through computer. According to the problems which traditional edge detection operator incapable of resolving, this paper introduces three kinds of edge detection algorithm based on fractal theory. In this paper, image segmentation method based on the fractal theory is studied, and the experimental results show the advantages that with the digital image processing method based on the fractal theory. But there also are some disadvantages in the application.The paper provides a new idea for the wood cell image edge detection through bonding the fractal theory and digital image processing technology. The simulation proves that the image processing technology based on image edge detection improves the quality of the image segmentation. And this paper provides scientific basis for the research of the micro wood cells.
