Research On User Interest Modeling In Digital Library Based On Domain Ontology

Internet is transition from Web2.0to Web3.0.The ides emphasized by Web3.0, thatusers are the center and Internet will provide users with personalized informationservice, makes the technology and theory of information retrieval,informationrecommendation and information filtering in traditional information service modelachieve the idea difficultly.Therefore,the scholars began to focus on the user interestmodel. The user interest model as the basis and core of personalized information serviceis the hot spot of current research,also,it is the hot spot of current website building andonline community research.But Aiming at the deficiency of traditional user interestmodeling，for example，describing the object is not standardized,semantic is weak andknowledge cannot be shared and reused and so on,Ontology technology as a newsemantic technology,can accurate description domain knowledge system,in theknowledge sharing and reuse has obvious advantages, therefore, the author has studieduser interest modeling based on domain ontology and applied it to user interestmodeling of digital library.Also,it is the author of the project in the research focus of thenational natural science funds projects：“Personalized recommendation model in digitallibrary based on semantic grid”（Approval number：71003032）、2009annual hubeiuniversity of technology research fund doctor project：“Personalized recommendation indigital library based on semantic grid”（Approval number：BSQD0921）、2011On thegraduate in Hubei University of technology research grant program:“Research on userinterest model in domain based on ontology”and Magazine publishing Fund of thelibrary and information service project:“Research on user interest modeling in domainbased on ontology”（Approval number：2012CB004）.The main research achievements in this paper are as follows：（1）User interest model is based on ontology.Aiming at some weak semantics problems, the paper particularly introduces thedomain ontology technology to build user interest model. The three main links of userinterest modeling are acquiring of information users interested in, expressing ofinformation users interested in, learning update of information users interested in. Theontology technology is mainly applied to the model representation and model learningupdate.（2）The paper has studied user interest model in the management of domainontology library construction.The research mainly comprises the initial ontology and domain ontology ofconstruction. Initial ontology is based on of Chinese Classified Thesaurus and ChineseLibrary Classification. Domain ontology is built on the basis of computer science fieldin Chinese Classified Thesaurus.（3）Put forward“Domain ontology-user interest model”user interest modelmanagement mode.Research two different modeling methods of user interest model based on ontology technology and represent model management mode of “Domain Ontology-the user interest model”user interest model management mode.The paper expressed userinterest model by domain ontology technology to form domain concept interest treemold. The ability of semantic understanding that domain concept interest tree providescan learn the interest of users and also mine the user potential interest. Then recommendusers accurate and abundant information users interested in.The full text divides into six chapters, its contents are as follows.The first chapter introduces the research background and significance of the topic.The paper summarized the research situation at home and abroad of domain ontologyand digital library user interest modeling and descripted the related content in thearticle.The second chapter provides a brief overview of ontology technology related tobasic knowledge, including the definition, classification, function, language,construction tools, construction methods and so on.The third chapter studied and illustrated the related theories and methods of digitallibrary user interest modeling. The content is divided into two parts of user interestmodel and digital library user interest model.The fourth chapter analyzed and researched the design scheme of digital libraryuser interest modeling based on ontology, puts forward the design thought andframework model. Then this paper presented design ideas and architecture of the model.The fifth chapter partly achieved the theory and scheme proposed in the fourthchapter. The main achievement is to use protégé to construct the domain ontology incomputer science field.The sixth chapter summarized the thesis and conceived the research in the nextstage.
