As the3G technique gradually become mature and will be used in business in the next few years, many3G evolution technologies have become the key content in the research fields of technology and standards.3GPP LTE, a technique evolution to the existing3GPP wireless technique so as to support higher data rate, low latency, and optimize packet access technology, is now the most popular standard in broadband mobile communication. With the rapid development of LTE,3GPP gradually launch out into the research of LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) system.Compared with LTE system, LTE-A system has a great enhancement in key technologies, which included the Carrier Aggregation, Relay (relay) technology and COMP technology. The current LTE-A system has six frequencies as candidate.3GPP puts forward the Carrier Aggregation technology to solve the problem of lacking of spectrum resource in LTE-A system. In this paper, Carrier Aggregation technology aggregating several LTE carriers is being researched, which has less effect on the current LTE physical channels, so there is no need to design physical channels as well as modulation and coding methods. By means of reusing of the current LTE resources, CA technology can reduce the degree of difficulty in designing the LTE-A system as well as the time LTE-A can be applied in business. Firstly the concept of CA technology was introduced. Secondly3different CA methods were being researched based on a great amount of3GPP propositions which has different guard bandwidth. As good compatibility and spectrum efficiency as well as complexity of the realization should be considered, each CA method has their own advantages and disadvantages. In order to analyze and solve these problems, a lot of research work about CA methods simulation analysis was being done. At last, some suggestions about future research of CA were given.
