The concept of Passive optical network(PON) long-standing, it has the characteristics of saving fiber resources, transparenting on network protocol,it plays a more and more important role in the optical access network. While the Ethernet and PON combination, gave rise to the Ethernet passive optical network EPON.It also has the advantages of Ethernet and PON, and becoming a popular technology in the field of optical access network.QINQ technology is one of the key technologies of the EPON, its main role is the expansion of VLAN number, In addition, in the operator’s network, QinQ packets with two layers of VLANs tag, But the equipment is not identify and deal with the inner VLAN tag encapsulated in the outer VLAN tag.This approach is also a simple, practical VPN technology.This article based on the needs of actual network, Increase a QINQ design in the OLT of EPON system, At the same time, according to the actual configuration scenarios, proposed a configuration program based on the user. The main tasks are:(1) On the basis of analysis of OLT plat form of software system, according to QINQ and EPON feature requests, design a basic QINQ and flexible QINQ implementation and data structure of QINQ module.(2) Analyzed characteristics of downstream work on EPON and QINQ, according to EPON’s downstream work mode is broadcast, and the main work of QINQ with downstream is striping the outer tag of the packet. had designed the downstream processing module,and write code to control flow of the downstream processing module, as well as downstream data processing flow, The control flow is to add and delete rules.(3) Analyzed characteristics of upstream work on EPON and QINQ, according to EPON’s downstream work mode is TDMA, need to add the outer layer of the label on the packet flexibility depending on the field, had designed the upstream processing module, and write code to control flow of the upstream processing module, as well as upstream data processing flow.(4) This article based on the actual test conditions and environment, verified the main function of QINQ, Focused on the different value of VID and VLAN priority, test if the system in a configuration rules can identify them and according to the different values of the fields marked the different outer VLAN TAG. The actual test results show that the implementation used in this paper can be flexibly marked the outer layer of the VLAN tag according to the needs and the selected field’s value message. The functionality of this article can be applied in a variety of practical configurations scene.
