Due to the many advantages of welding robot operating for a long time, stability, consistency, most of the cars at home and abroad, engineering machinery manufacturing enterprises widely used welding robots to replace manual welding operations. With the author’s relevant working experience over the years in the welding robot, launched a series of studies, for in recent years, the company focus on improving the automation rate and level of the rate of the welding robot. Many types of welding robots of our company tracking applications on the different structural parts of the wheel cranes were analyzed, tracking accuracy of the arc welding robot sensors were improved through the integration method of left and right of current and the characteristic harmonic law. We also discuss the possibility of the arc welding robot offline programming in the company and achieve two arc welding robot’s welding in the frame body structure by its intercoordination and mutral control and study the process of welding robots.This paper investigated the application of the welding machine, voltaic arc tracking and teach tracking on the structure of crane, focusing on the application and improvement of teach tracking in the arm head and arm tail. We adopted the integration method of left and right of current and the characteristic harmonic law to improve the tracking of the arc sensor for the irregular groove if there were some uneven gaps. This paper also discussed the possibility of establishing the offline programming system in the company using a variety of programming techniques on the basis of the UG4.0work platform. Meanwhile, this paper concluded that we can weld the frame structure through the coordination and control of the dual robot and the combination of positioner. Also, this paper achieved the synchronous movement of two robots using the cross-coupling control algorithm, and proposed the idea of path correction method to solve the collision between practical robot arms and positioners. The application of the welding robots improved the quality of the weld appearance, and also induced the spatter and polishment. Meanwhile, compared with the manual welding, the application of the welding robots raised the work efficiency for50%.With the study of this paper, welding automation rates and standard rates of our company has been progressed substantially, and the product quality has been improved considerably. And we can balance the product quality, the production efficiency and the technology investment and enhance the production line capacity without adding new equipment, this will maximize the production benefits.
