The Gas Pipe Network Management System(GPMS) is an important part of the digital city’s construction. And the updating is the core problem during the database construction of GPMS. With the development of3G and3S technology the advanced GPMS includes the information center management system and the smartphone patrol inspection system. So the updating means the information system updating and the mobile phone updating. In practical work each worker is in charge of a certain area. The certain part data is stored in the terminal mobile phone in order to guarantee the security of gas pipe data, reduce the data storage. In order to decrease the network traffic and increase efficiency of the GPMS terminal incremental updating, it just needs to download the certain are data while it was updated. A regional-division method based on spatial entities topological relations is proposed in this paper. And the division result is stored into the database for downloading. The main works in this thesis are summarized as follows:1) This paper proposed the regional-division method based on spatial entities topological relations. The applicability between the change-only information-division and existing topological description models is analyzed in this paper. And the9-intersection model is used to describe topological relations between the gas pipe topological elements and patrol inspection areas.2) This thesis analyzes the applicability between3kinds of point\line and19kinds of line/region topological relations and the change-only information division.19kinds of line/region topological relations are summarized based on the GPMS change-only information division characteristics. And3pieces of point division rules and5pieces of line division rules are proposed in this paper.3) A update-division system is developed using C#in Windows and ArcEngine platform. This system processes layer operations, attribute information query, the change-only information division and the storage of the result. Real and simulation data is used to verify the correctness and practicability of the division rules presented in this paper. The approaches lay the foundation for GPMS terminal incremental updating.
