With the rapid developping of Internet, the demand for Internet is increasing, the new service needs a higher QoS in network. Traditional network, which is designed for an efficient and simple data transmission, can’t meet the new services. So the new technology is needed to ensure the service in network with the lower cost. The technology of MPLS that can solve the QoS problems is analyed in the thesis.MPLS technology and mechanisms of QoS is introduced in the thesis, introduces the structure of MPLS network, main principle and related techniques of MPLS. The thesis analysises the mechanisms of QoS, discusses the Best-Effort, Intserv and Diffserv model. Then MPLS-based Intserv and Diffserv model is analysised.Traffic Engineering and the component of MPLS-TE is introduced in the thesis. Mainly studying the DS-TE model, the thesis analysises of Min_BW and V-PREPT. The impact of bandwidth preempted field is reduced by optimizing Min_BW. According to defect of V-PREPT algorithm, an improved scheme which optimizes the constraint of bandwidth and adopts the adaptive strategy is proposed in the thesis.The thesis simulates the MPLS-TE and MPLS Diffserv with OPNET Modeler, the results show that the both technologies have a good ability. The resualt of simulation shows that MPLS-TE can aviod network congestion and improve the utilization of network. MPLS Diffserv can protect high-priority service, meet the requirements.Lastly, the thesis summanrizes the study work, and put forward futher work outlook.
