Craniofacial morphology recognizes the relationship between human skull and faceby research. It provides a scientific basis for the recovery of skull face and cosmeticrepair surgery. In recent years, the research in this area has been widespread concernedand attention. Three-dimensional visualization of medical images is an importantresearch branch in the field of computer visualization and is currently a hot research.Three-dimensional visualization technology of medical image provides more diagnosticinformation to support medical diagnosis and surgery guide for disease and improve thediagnostic accuracy and scientific of medical. Based on medical slice (CT, MRI, etc.) isan important area research of3D mesh reconstruction and visualization of medicalinformation.As the complexity of craniofacial structures, as well as the expensive price of theexisting reconstruction systems and performance deficiencies, this paper designed andimplemented a series of craniofacial CT-based three-dimensional image reconstructionsystem. The main function is conduct surface reconstruction and body reconstructionfor craniofacial three-dimensional model. We can conduct point cloud display, gridmodels face display, apply light for the reconstruction of craniofacial three-dimensionalmodel. It can provide rotation, translate, zoom, design the opacity and get the region ofinterest as interactive. In order to better view the model, we design three-dimensionalmodel of the animation operations, such as look on the page up, the page down, the firstone, the last one, forward playback, backward playback and set the playback speedoperation. The system includes four modules, namely: image preprocessing, three-dimensional model reconstruction, three-dimensional model interactive, three-dimensi-onal model animation. Thesis puts up the needs analysis, preliminary design, detaileddesign and implement for the system, and finally puts up a detailed testing for system.The system can assist doctors to visual observation the various tissues of craniofacial,accurate segmentation and reconstruction of a variety of craniofacial organs. It can helpdoctors diagnose the disease and surgical planning, rapidly discovery of the lesion, andalso for researchers to observation and simulation operations.
