The concept of fieldbus has been put forward by International ElectrotechnicalCommission(IEC) in1984.At the same time,the IEC embark on enacting the standard offieldbus.But many company launched their own fieldbus technology due to the conflict of theirinterest.And these fieldbus standards can’t reach an agreement on openness and interoperability.So there is no uniform fieldbus standard until now. The Ethernet technology has a uniformstandard, so connecting each network becomes easy. Moreover the costs of the networkdeployment will be reduced. It’s a modern trend that making use of the Ethernet technology inthe the field of industrial control. Although the the industrial Ethernet technology is at thestarting stage, it has made rapid progress and it would be the main force of the industrialcommunication circle in the future.So it’s very important to research the industrial Ethernettechnology and develop some related products.The real-time industrial Ethernet technology has been launched by the Beckoff in2003. It ischaracterized by higher transmission rate, higher efficiency, and lower development cost. Itsdevice attachment supports sflexible topology, and it complys with the Ethernet standard. So it’sconcerned by many manufacturers,and they developt some related products.The paper researcheson the EtherCAT technology and the flush bonding module comX, and then accomplishes thedesign of the intelligence slave.This article briefly analyzes the status of the fieldbus firstly, and expounds the significanceof the research and the protocol of EtherCAT. The global design of the embedded intelligenceslave adopt the combination of ARM hardware platform and Linux operation.And the paperintroduce the all parts of the hardware, including the interface circuit of memory, serial port,USB, comX, drive circuit of the three-phase asynchronous AC motor and etc. On the basis ofthose hardwares, it introduces the motor drivers and the network drivers.Finally, it has completedthe transplanting of the slave linux drivers and development of user application programs.
